Institute in Pharmaceutical Research (INIFAR, for its acronym in Spanish)

It carries out multidisciplinary research in the pharmaceutical area and related fields looking for the scientific and technological advance.

It also performs pharmaceutical appraisals of medical substances and offers repetitive technical services, advice and biopharmaceutical and bioequivalent studies, dissolution profiles that benefit state and private institutions.

Objectives

  • To promote the research, development, external link and social projection of pharmaceutical sciences in pursuit of public health and scientific-technological progress of the country, in coordination with related disciplines and support units of the University of Costa Rica.

Main functions

  • Research, social action and sale of services in information of medications, management of therapy, diagnosis, design, implementation and evaluation of the educative strategies of Pharmacy
  • Research and sale of services in bio-equivalency and bioavailability
  • Research and sale of services in quality control of products of sanitary interest

  • Revision of medication and pharma-therapeutic follow-up to patients

  • Consultation to the general public about information on health
