Institute of Legal Research (IIJ, for its acronym in Spanish)

It plans, develops and disseminates research in different branches of Legal Science. The training offered covers a great variety of themes such as General Penal Law, Copyright, Agrarian Law, International and Intellectual Property among others.

Objectives

  • To do research on the Legal Sciences Area, preferably oriented towards the prior problems of the Costa Rican reality.
  • Disseminate the academic production of the Institute through different means

Main functions

  • To develop research programs and projects
  • To publish books of research findings.
  • Twice a year, to publish two volumes with articles of professors and researchers, national and foreigners, about different topics of Law Science both in the Law Journal IUS Doctrina and the Legal Science Magazine.
  • To conduct academic activities (Congresses, seminars, forums, talks, and others), to raise awareness of issues of national relevance, in the legal sciences
